SHARING YOUR GARDEN WITH KIDS
Summer Series hosted by Classroom in Bloom
4th Wednesday of June, and 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of July and August, 10am -12pm
The schoolyard garden, located east of the track on the campuses of Liberty Bell High School and the
Methow Valley Elementary.
We will
offer instruction on a variety of garden skills such as:
-composting
-making healthy snacks in the garden
-creating kid zones in your garden
-improving your soil fertility
The series is free and open to parents and kids aged 0-8. no gardening
experience necessary. Please bring gloves, water and snacks, and come
prepared to get dirty! Please call Classroom in Bloom at 997-2050 to
reserve your spot.

No Fear When Using a Pressure Canner and Canning Veggies
This class will help eliminate your fear of using a pressure canner, learn how to buy one and use it to can veggies.
• Tuesday July 15th
Fermenting: Pickle Pointers and Sauerkraut
Making good quality pickles is a science. Learn the secrets for successful quick-pack and fermented pickles and sauerkraut making.
• Wednesday, August 13th
Tomato Rama: Making Salsa, Canning Tomatoes, Juice blends and Spaghetti Sauce
After this class, people will want your salsa recipes! Learn which tomatoes are best for what, and take home some great recipes.
